The Peacock Motif

Part of a series of artworks inspired by and a tribute to the textile traditions of India, this mural reinterprets and expresses the peacock motif in several different ways to create an interesting composition.

The Lotus Motif

The Elephant Motif

Skies to Seas 

This is one of a series of two murals placed across a green courtyard in the executive area of the prestigious Ankit Gems diamond factory at Surat. This one shows the seas. The idea is the blue of the skies extends and merges with that of the seas, while the brown elements indicate clouds and landform in the respective murals.

Size : Approx. 6000 mm x 1500 mm
Technique : Made with layers of MDF pasted on a plywood and canvas base, this mural is hand painted and has accents of copper pasted on the MDF.

Floral Welcome

This composition of abstract flowers made using 3 different metals is designed as a welcoming gesture to the executive office of Ankit Gems diamond factory.

Technique : This interesting mural is made using a combination of brass, copper and stainless steel.

Shree Ganeshaaya Namah

This eye-catching mural is the main feature in the living room of a private residence in Surat whose family are devout followers of Lord Ganesha.  The symmetry and bold straight lines with the colors and brass accents create a striking feature.

Size : Approx. 1800 mm x 1000 mm
Technique : This interesting mural is made using veneer stained with different colours and certain parts have brass accents pasted over it.

Fish Family

Carrying forward the diagonal square geometry used in the particular room this is located in, this mural depicts a family of fish made using the same geometry.

Technique : This wall art piece has a plywood base over which a printed canvas is pasted, and then stained veneer squares are pasted on it with brass accents.

Abstract Flowers

Carrying forward the technique and material palette for artworks in the house, this particular piece depicts brass flowers against an interesting background.

Starry Landscape

Housed in the home theatre of an apartment, this particular artwork addresses the dual purpose of providing sound absorption and creating a beautiful backdrop.  The materials are selected on the basis of this functional requirement.

Size : Approx. 3600 mm x 1450 mm and 1850 mm x 1450 mm
Technique : Made in layers of beautifully textured fabrics mounted on MDF, the base is also made of fabric with buttons depicting stars and a brass circle depicting the moon.

Console-top Rangoli

Many Indian households have a tradition of decorating the entrances of their homes with beautiful rangoli patterns.  Here a similar design is put up as an artwork on the wall at the entrance of the apartment.  It integrates mirrors that also serve the purpose of sealing a last minute look before stepping out of the house.

Size : Approx. 1050 mm x 1050 mm
Technique : This artwork is made in several layers of MDF with mirrors pasted on them and differently colour dyed ropes encircling the mirrors, creating contrasting textures.

Sunset Reunion

The theme of the project correlates with family values exhibited by animals. In the artwork in the living room, the family is depicted as the flock of birds that fly in their own zones all day and come back together at home that is symbolized as a tree.

Size : Approx. 2000 mm x 1050 mm
Technique : Artistically painted plywood base as a tree and MDF layers cut and painted in the shape of birds.  

In this Life and Beyond

The birds drinking water from the bowl portrays the client’s family of five where the birds sitting are imagined as the client, his wife, and his father while the birds flying is compared with his son for the dynamism of a child. The one sitting above and watching is his mother who passed away and is still looking at them from heaven.

Technique : Manually painted plywood base with MDF layers cut and painted in the shape of birds. 

Symbiosis

The theme of the project correlates with family values exhibited by animals.  Flamingos are recognized for their togetherness and moving in flocks like friends, family and acquaintances, always in unison and a back-up for each other, taking care of each other at all times.

Technique : Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) cut and manually painted in the shape of flamingos with wood wool board painted in blue used for acoustics.  

Tending Young

The theme of the project correlates with family values exhibited by animals. This artwork uses elephants because of their humble and kind nature also protecting their young ones just like parents love and take care of their children, portraying a strong bond between them.

Technique : Painted plywood base and chamfered Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) layers are used to create a three – dimensional effect depicting elephants.

Coherence

The design of the tiles used in the room is replicated in the artwork for optical concurrence creating a style and adding visual impact to the space.

Technique : SS and Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) layers used alternatively, with embroidery work uniquely done on it in order to match the motif of the tiles.

The design of the tiles used in the room is replicated in the artwork for optical concurrence creating a style and adding visual impact to space.

Technique : Play of SS and Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) layers, with embossed chamfered layers of the same in order to match the motif of the tiles.  

A Couple’s Journey

The artwork demonstrates different chapters of the life of a couple with the chemistry between the giraffes. The first picture showing their phase of love when they first met, the second when they are not in agreement while the third of their love as they still come together to take care of their children.
